Ready To Look Younger?

You're not alone. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over 100,000 facelifts are performed each year in the United States. And it's easy to see why! A facelift can take years off your appearance, enhancing your confidence in your look. According to a study carried out by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) patients who had undergone a facelift rated themselves as looking an average of 12 years younger.

Are You Tired Of Looking Older Than You Feel?

As we age, you could feel that your face does not reflect your youthful, energetic personality. There’s nothing wrong with aging, however, modern technology has enabled us to age on our terms. If you're considering a facelift to help you look more youthful, here are a few things to keep in mind.

A facelift can do wonders for your appearance, making you look five to ten years younger. It can also help to:

  • Improve the look of deep smile lines, or nasolabial folds
  • Address sagging skin at the mid-face region
  • Improve the marionette lines (lines from the sides of mouth to the chin)
  • Restore youthful definition at the jawline
  • Remove a double chin
  • Reposition facial fat, lift underlying facial muscles for a natural, youthful look

What to Expect with a Facelift?

A facelift, also called a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure to improve the look of an aging face. It can correct deep creases and wrinkles, sagging skin, and jowls. Our expert surgeons perform facelift procedures in an outpatient setting in our state-of-the-art hospital. Facelifts are performed under general anesthesia.

The surgery takes about two to five hours to complete, based on the corrections needed. During a facelift, your surgeon will make incisions near the ears, within the hairline. Through the incisions, your surgeon will tighten the underlying muscles and remove excess skin to create a refreshed, elegant, youthful appearance.

What is the Recovery Like After a Facelift?

You'll need to rest for the first few days after your facelift. You may have some pain and swelling during this time. Your surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help you manage any discomfort you may experience. For the next several weeks you should avoid strenuous activity, exposure to sunlight, and any bending or stooping. You'll need to sleep with your head elevated for the first week or two after surgery to keep any swelling to a minimum.
